He added, 'I'm very happy not to be in a relationship right now. That's okay. I didn't plan on it, that's for sure but that's okay.'
While ex-wife Scarlett Johansson has moved on to Sean Penn a month after their split announcement, Ryan Reynolds is still not a hundred percent recovered from their divorce. "I'm not out of it yet. At all," the actor told Details magazine, saying "optimism" is definitely in his card.
"Anyone who gets divorced goes through a lot of pain, but you come out of it," he said. In further explanation of his statement, he added, "Any kind of crisis can be good. It wakes you up. I gotta say, I'm a different person than I was six months ago."
Reynolds was rumored striking a relationship with German model Agnes Fischer post the split, but the "Green Lantern" star is quite happy with his single status. Saying dating is like an "alien" to him, Reynolds revealed, "I've been in relationships pretty much since high school. Some people look at that as a good thing. I think wiser people might see that as a house of cards."
The pain of crushed marriage even made him consider taking no more constitution. "I don't think I want to get married again" said the actor who was once engaged to Alanis Morissette. "But you always reevaluate these things."
Without mentioning Johansson, Reynolds revealed his state of being, "Departing a relationship and still maintaining the idea that this is still the same person I married is a great luxury that I experienced. Thankfully I was in a relationship where two people chose to remain on the high road in every regard."
Reynolds and Johansson got married on September 27, 2008 and announced their separation in December 2010.
