The first full trailer for "The Descendants" has been released. In the video, released via Apple, George Clooney has to be a "backup" parent and deal with his two daughters. Later, he learns the hard truth that his wife was cheating on him. From this point, everything gets emotional.
Directed by Alexander Payne, the drama comedy film is a sometimes humorous, sometimes tragic journey for Clooney's Matt King, an indifferent husband and father of two girls, who is forced to re-examine his past and embrace his future when his wife suffers a boating accident off of Waikiki. The event leads to a rapprochement with his young daughters while Matt wrestles with a decision to sell the family's land handed down from Hawaiian royalty and missionaries.
In addition to Clooney, Judy Greer and Shailene Woodley take the roles of Joanie and Alexandra King respectively. Mary Birdsong, Beau Bridges, and Robert Forster are among other supporting actors. The upcoming movie itself is scheduled for a December 16 release in the U.S.
