A 27-year-old man in Texas happens to have the same name with the actor and he's about to experience what it's like to be a celebrity.
CBS has picked up a reality show that would be in the theme of a Prince and the Pauper. "Same Name" would trade the lives of a celebrity and an ordinary citizen who happen to share the same name.
In the first episode, David Hasselhoff would live as an electrical technician and landscaper in Lake Jackson, Texas. Meanwhile, 27-year-old David Hasselhoff would live in the former "Baywatch" star's house, meeting the family, friends and co-worker while at the same time experiencing how the other lives.
"They may have the same names but their lives couldn't be more different," says Jennifer Bresnan, CBS EVP of alternative programming. "Walking in each other's shoes and experiencing their home life, work and other activities reveals moments of humor, laughter and unexpected emotion."
The network is keen on identity-swapping reality shows. It has received a success for "Undercover Boss" and prank show "I Get That a Lot". "Same Name" is set to be a summer filler.
