Both actors are reportedly interested in the lead role of Matt Murdock, but Cooper is the one who is said to be on top of the list.
After David Slade was reported to direct new "Daredevil" movie, the talks now move on to who will portray the title character. Rumor has it, Bradley Cooper ("Limitless") and Garrett Hedlund ("On the Road") are setting their eyes on the coveted role.
Showbiz Spy (via Comic Book Movie) reported that Cooper is the hot favorite to play the blind crimefighter. "This will be very different to Ben Affleck and his go at Daredevil on film," a movie insider told the site. "Daredevil is an exciting character and a unique challenge for an actor. Bradley is top of the list of actors to take the lead role and it sounds like he's interested."
As for Hedlund's possible involvement, LostintheMultiplex was first to report the news. The site said the "Tron Legacy" actor is also interested to don the red Lycra. He reportedly turned down "Captain America: The First Avenger" before because he did not want the 9-picture deal, but might think "Daredevil" is the right superhero role for him.
Moviehole, meanwhile, mentioned Robert Pattinson as one of the candidates to be Matt Murdock aka Daredevil. The talks about the "Twilight" heartthrob playing the title character reportedly began as Slade is attached to direct the movie. However, the site further noted that any association of Pattinson with the upcoming Fox project is "just talk" at this point.
The untitled Daredevil project will be more a continuation of the "Daredevil" saga and will not contain material from 2003 "Daredevil, The Movie". It has been said the story will use "Born Again" run of the comic series which sees the Kingpin of Crime learning the identity of the superhero and beginning to systematically destroy his life.
Though David Slade has been attached to direct it, no writer has been tapped to work on the script. 20th Century Fox has not announced start date and release date for the movie.
