'Life Unexpected' Star Brittany Robertson Joins 'Secret Circle'

'Circle', which is also based from the books by 'The Vampire Diaries' author, has cast Robertson as the main character, a teenage witch.

AceShowbiz - It is becoming more and more clear that The CW is not going to continue "Life Unexpected". Its leading star Brittany Robertson has joined another pilot, "Secret Circle", and she is taking the lead role, Cassie.

EW said that the casting is in "second position" to Robertson's starring role on "LUX". However, if the pilot, which is produced by "The Vampire Diaries" executive producer Kevin Williamson, is able to capture CW's affection then it could mean the death of "LUX". The network has enough material worthy for its Fall line-up.

"Secret Circle" is based on book series by L.J. Smith who also wrote the novels of "TVD". It is about a California teen (Robertson) who moves to her mom's hometown of New Salem and discovers that she is a witch and part of a secret coven. She is also the key that will unlock centuries-old battle between the good and the evil.

Shooting begins this March in Vancouver.
