Production of 'Pet Sematary' Remake Is in Motion
Announced back in 2010, the project has reportedly gotten the script fully written by Matthew Greenberg.

Back in March 2010, it was announced that Stephen King's classic "Pet Sematary" would be revived in a third movie but there was no progress in the following months. The wheels are now turning as King's franchise become popular with the movie pick-ups of "The Dark Tower" and his post-apocalyptic novel "The Stand".

Los Angeles Times reports the writer of "1408", Matthew Greenberg, is set to turn in his script for a new version of the horror tale. Plus, executives at studio Paramount "have put out the word to at least two representatives in the agent community that they are seeking a high-level director to tackle the material."

"Pet Sematary" was first made into film in 1988. Its second adaptation did not receive as big success as the first one. The horror film basically tells about a family moving to a small Maine town with a pet cemetery and an Indian burial ground. When their toddler is knocked down and killed, he's put to rest in a nearby burial ground, and then raises from the dead.
