2011 PGA Awards Winners in Movie: 'The King's Speech' and 'Toy Story 3'

The British drama won Darryl F. Zanuck Award while the 2010 big grosser snatched the animation award.

"The King's Speech" has been named the best by the Producers Guild of America. The drama starring Colin Firth grabbed the Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures at the 2011 PGA Awards, beating out the likes of "127 Hours", "Black Swan", "Inception" and Golden Globes' big winner "The Social Network".

The award was given to Iain Canning, Emile Sherman and Gareth Unwin as "The King's Speech" producers. "We've just been overwhelmed by the way audiences have responded to this film around the world," Sherman said during his acceptance. Unwin, humble with the win, added, "We thought we were the last ones in the running."

In Animated Theatrical Motion Pictures category, "Toy Story 3" came out as the winner after competing with "Despicable Me" and "How to Train Your Dragon". Receiving the prize, producer Darla K. Anderson credited director Lee Unkrich, saying "I wouldn't be here without the brilliant directing prowess of Lee Unkrich."

Meanwhile, "Waiting for "Superman" " won over "Inside Job" and other nominees for the documentary trophy. Producer Lesley Chilcott thanked Paramount, stating "You treated us like we were a big movie when we really were a little documentary."

The PGA presented some honorary awards at the gala held on Saturday, January 22. "Avatar" helmer James Cameron received the Milestone Award, "The Social Network" and "True Grit" producer Scott Rudin was given the David O. Selznick Award in Motion Pictures, and "Spider-Man" producer Laura Ziskin was honored with Visionary Award.

The 2011 Producers Guild Awards, which was hosted by Judd Apatow, also handed out prizes for the best in TV. An honorary award in television, Norman Lear Achievement Award, was presented to Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman.
