Paramount Pictures has set a release date for the movie and tapped 'Borat' and 'Bruno' helmer Larry Charles to work behind the lens for the upcoming project.

Sacha Baron Cohen is set to revive late President of Iraq, Saddam Hussein, in upcoming movie "The Dictator". The project, which is nabbed by Paramount Pictures, will reunite the comedian/actor with helmer Larry Charles who directed him in "Borat" and "Bruno".

"The Dictator" is inspired by the best selling novel, "Zabibah and The King", by Saddam Hussein. According to Deadline Hollywood, it "tells the heroic story of a dictator who risked his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed."

Paramount, which reportedly paid Baron Cohen $20 million to make the movie, has set May 11, 2012 as the release date. Baron Cohen produces it along with Scott Rudin, Alec Berg, Jeff Schaffer and David Mandel.

Best known for his portrayal of three unorthodox fictional characters Ali G., Borat and Bruno, Sacha Baron Cohen snatched a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor for his role in "Borat". He joins the cast of Martin Scorsese's "Hugo Cabret" which will head to U.S. theaters in December and is on board to portray Freddie Mercury in a biopic.
