2011 NAACP Image Awards Nominees in TV

Like in movie, Tyler Perry excels in TV categories, thanks to his two comedy series 'House of Payne' and 'Meet the Browns'.

Like in the past few years, Tyler Perry is going to shine at this year's NAACP Image Awards. The actor/director's television series "Tyler Perry's House of Payne" has just received five nominations in the television categories including Outstanding Comedy Series, on top of two nominations for his other project "Meet the Browns".

The TV fields are divided based on their genres; Comedy, Drama, TV Movie/Miniseries/Dramatic Special, Daytime Series, News/Information, Talk, Reality, Variety and Kids Programs. While Perry's work is dominating the Comedy, "Grey's Anatomy" leads the Drama with five nominations including Outstanding Drama Series.

Meanwhile, the acting categories in Daytime Drama Series sees equal competition between "The Bold and the Beautiful", "All My Children", and "The Young and the Restless" which take three each. Young stars Selena Gomez and Victoria Justice pop up in the Outstanding Performance in a Youth/Children's Program category.

NAACP Awards also gives recognition in other entertainment fields such as music, movie and literature. There's a separate nomination for the writing and directing categories which can be found here.
