Shia LaBeouf and Oliver Stone May Reunite in 'Pinkville'

The helmer says he and his 'Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps' actor have discussed about reteaming in a Vietnam War investigative drama about the My Lai massacre of March 1968.

Oliver Stone is planning to recruit Shia LaBeouf for his other project. After working together in "Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps", the helmer reveals in commentary track for the movie that he and the actor have discussed about the possibility of reteaming for "Pinkville".

According to IGN, Stone says LaBeouf is interested in exploring the subject matter because his father was a helicopter pilot in Vietnam. The site also reports that LaBeouf would portray Hugh Thompson, a US Army helicopter pilot. The role was previously set for Channing Tatum.

Set in March 1968 when the My Lai massacre took place, the Vietnam War investigative drama will revolve around Thompson who saw US soldiers killing unarmed civilians in the hamlet of My Lai. He then reported this massacre and stopped it.

"Pinkville" was originally set to start filming in Southeast Asia in December 2007 but was shelved due to the then-impending Writers Guild strike. Beside Channing Tatum, Oliver Stone had tapped Bruce Willis, Michael Pena, Woody Harrelson, Xzibit, Michael Pitt, Toby Jones, Jason Behr and Cam Gigandet to star in it.

Shia LaBeouf can next be seen in "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" which is set to be summer blockbuster in 2011. As for Stone, he has "Savages" lining up as his directorial project.
