The drama by director David Fincher nabs the coveted title from Los Angeles Film Critics Association, Boston Film Critics and New York Film Critics Online.
"The Social Network" has swept Best Picture kudos at three different awards unveiled on December 12. It is picked as the best film at Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards, Boston Film Critics Awards as well as the New York Film Critics Online Awards.
From Los Angeles Film Critics, director David Fincher wins an award for directing, tied with "Carlos" helmer Olivier Assayas. Aaron Sorkin is honored with a gong for his screenplay and gets another kudo for his writing in the same film from Boston Film Critics.
Boston Film Critics additionally award Jesse Eisenberg with best actor prize, while the same honor is given to Colin Firth ("The King's Speech") by Boston Film Critics. "The Social Network" gets other awards from Boston Trent Film Critics for Fincher's directing and best music, thanks to Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.
At NYFCO awards, "The Social Network" gets three kudos in total. Beside the best picture, the drama once again lands an honor each for director Fincher and screenwriter Sorkin. Meanwhile, the best actor title at NYFCO is won by James Franco ("127 Hours").
"Black Swan" also rakes multiple awards at these three Critics Awards, with lead actress Natalie Portman getting Best Actress title from Boston Film Critics and NYFCO. She loses the Best Actress honor at Los Angeles Film Critics to Kim Hye-Ja ("Mother").
