The National Board of Review (NBR) has named "The Social Network" as the Best Film of the year. Three other awards from the organization are also given for the drama, honoring David Fincher as Best Director, Aaron Sorkin's script as Best Adapted Screenplay and Jesse Eisenberg as Best Actor.

NBR President Annie Schulhof says she expects "Social Network" will "stand up over time and appeal to many generations." She adds, "With 'The Social Network' you had very strong elements that were very much appreciated: the direction, the writing, the acting, its great storytelling. That spoke to the very diverse landscape of the National Board of Review."

Lesley Manville of "Another Year" is also celebrating for she is chosen to win Best Actress prize. Jacki Weaver of "Animal Kingdom" is Best Supporting Actress while not-yet-released "The Fighter" has its star Christian Bale winning Best Supporting Actor.

Some other films honored by NBR are "Toy Story 3" as Best Animated Feature, "The Town" for its Best Ensemble Cast, and "Buried" for Chris Sparling's Best Original Screenplay. Additionally, this year's NBR Awards honors Sofia Coppola with Special Filmmaking Achievement Award for her work on "Somewhere".

Though the winners have been announced, the kudos for 2010 National Board of Review Awards will not be handed out until January 11, 2011 during a New York gala hosted by Meredith Vieira.
