The Wednesday's Grammy nominations concert reveals that the Slim Shady grabs as many as ten nods and Bruno Mars gets seven kudos.
- Dec 2, 2010
AceShowbiz - During live concert at the Club Nokia in Los Angeles on December 1, nominees for the 2011 Grammy Awards were announced. Eminem dominates the list, sweeping 10 nods including top honor Album of the Year. His multi platinum-selling album "Recovery" faces off Arcade Fire's "The Suburbs", Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now, Lady GaGa's "The Fame Monster" and Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream".
Newcomer Bruno Mars also receives impressive seven nominations. One of them is Best Male Pop Vocal Performance which places him in a battle against Michael Buble, Michael Jackson, Adam Lambert and John Mayer. Unfortunately, he was not listed in Best New Artist. He reportedly didn't meet the requirement because he didn't release his debut album between October 1, 2009 - September 30, 2010.
In the New Artist battle, there is Justin Bieber facing off the likes of Drake, Florence and the Machine, Mumford & Sons and Esperanza Spalding. Bieber additionally is vying for Best Pop Vocal Album alongside such competitors as Susan Boyle, Lady GaGa, John Mayer and Katy Perry.
The other nominees which receive multiple nods include Lady Antebellum, Jay-Z, Miranda Lambert, B.o.B and Muse. Winners will be announced in a live telecast which will take place at Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 13, 2011 and will broadcast on CBS at 8 P.M. ET/PT.
