More than a week after having her engagement to former football star Eric Johnson (II) announced, Jessica Simpson has now agreed to share details of the proposal. "I was watching 'Parenthood' at the time," Jessica said during a SIRIUS XM radio interview for "The Morning Mash Up".
In the middle of watching the show, Eric made Jessica "pause it." The 30-year-old beauty recalled, "I was like, 'It's a really good part in 'Parenthood'... it's an emotional fight right now', (Eric's) like, 'I know, but I just got to show you something'."
Once Eric got Jessica's attention, the former San Francisco 49ers tight end popped the ultimate question. Jessica shared, "He got down on his knee and I had to sit down on it because I was so shocked. I was... short of breath."
"It was definitely one of those moments where I've never felt that way before, ever," Jessica added during the chat which will be aired in its entirety on Thursday, December 2. And it turned out that Eric had hid the ring in a shoe in her house and informed Jessica's parents and sister Ashlee Simpson about the plan.
"He had the ring in his shoe at my house somewhere. I was like: Why hide it in a shoe? But it worked. I had no idea," Jessica said. "He had talked to my mom and dad and my sister three weeks before he asked me. I can't believe all the Simpsons kept a secret."
Jessica and Eric had dated for six months before they got engaged. Their romance rumor first hit the media in May and they confirmed their relationship with some serious PDA sessions during the actress' 29th birthday in July during which they enjoyed intimate moment on a private yacht in Capri, Italy.
