2011 People's Choice Awards Nominees in Movie

'Twilight Saga's Eclipse' dominates the movie nominees with eight nods, eying the coveted Favorite Movie and Favorite Drama Movie titles.


The end of 2010 is about to come but "Twilight" film franchise is still likely to rule showbiz world in 2011. The nominations list for the 37th annual People's Choice Awards has been unveiled and the third film, "The Twilight Saga's Eclipse", leads the pack of movie nominees with eight nods.

"Eclipse" is proposed as possible Favorite Movie, competing with "Alice in Wonderland", "Inception", "Iron Man 2" and "Toy Story 3". The vampire-themed film will be once again up against "Alice", "Inception" in addition to "The Social Network" and "Dear John" for Favorite Drama Movie title.

"Twilight" trio are contributing in "Eclipse" nods. Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner are touted as Favorite Movie Actor, facing off Johnny Depp, Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert Downey Jr. Meanwhile, Kristen Stewart is named among contenders of Favorite Movie Actress along with Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts and Katherine Heigl. The threesome is additionally put on Favorite On-Screen Team category, and Pattinson as well as Stewart land nods in Favorite Movie Star Under 25.

On Favorite Family Movie, this year's best animations "Toy Story 3" and "Shrek Forever After" are going to compete with "Despicable Me", "How to Train Your Dragon" and "The Karate Kid". Favorite Comedy Movie would go to either "Date Night" or "Easy A" or "Grown Ups" or "Sex and the City 2" or "Valentine's Day", with Adam Sandler, Drew Barrymore, Steve Carell, Tina Fey and Will Ferrell among Favorite Comedic Star nominees.

This year, a new category Favorite Horror Movie is added and the possible winners include "A Nightmare on Elm Street", "Let Me In", "Resident Evil: Afterlife", "The Crazies" and "The Last Exorcism". Also having a chance to take home a kudo from the prize giving event are young stars like Emma Watson, Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron.

The 2011 People's Choice Awards will be announced during a gala on January 5, 2011 which is hosted by Queen Latifah and aired on CBS. The event also honors the best in TV and music with the winners decided by fans' vote on www.peopleschoice.com.
