Ashton Kutcher Sells One More Twitter Based Show

His production house Katalyst Productions works together with Schiff Co. to develop 'Dear Girls Above Me' for CBS.

Ashton Kutcher is on fire, selling one more show based on Twitter feeds to CBS. Kutcher has previously convinced the Eye to order a pilot for "Shh ... Don't Tell Steve". While "Steve" is a man's recount of his immature and eccentric roommate, the new show "Dear Girls Above Me" follows a guy's tweets about two annoying girls living above his apartment.

The series is a concept developed by Kutcher's Katalyst Productions and the Schiff Co. Kutcher, Jason Goldberg and David Schiff are executive producers, while Tim Doyle ("The Big Bang Theory", "Better Off Ted") is still in negotiations to join the team. Writers assigned to develop the script based on the tweets are Charlie McDowel and Justin Lader.

Although CBS lands two Twitter series, there is a difference in them. "Steve" is using quotes made by his roommate while "Dear Girls" includes the unidentified protagonist's comment on the girls' sayings. For example: " 'Did you hear that all these kids were rescued in Chile after being trapped in some mountain?' Miners, not minors" and " 'Shut up! Saddam Hussein is dead? I thought that's who we've been looking for in those caves?' You're thinking of Fred Flintstone."

Coming as CBS' competition in this new trend of making TV shows based on blogs is ABC's comedy pitch which is based on blog "Awakward Family Photos". But CBS has already had one launched this Fall called "$#*! My Dad Says" which is doing quite well with 10.7 million viewers in average.
