Although she was hired to make a cameo on 'Simpsons' before the controversy about her 'Sesame' sketch, this casting news places a special emphasize on her appearance.

Striking while the iron is hot, "The Simpsons" executive producer Al Jean announced that Katy Perry is a guest for the animation's Christmas episode. Perry made the headlines earlier this week after her skit with Elmo of "Sesame Street" was deemed to sexy for children and was eventually axed from its airing schedule.

Perry, however, will show an equal amount of cleavage on "The Simpsons" December 5 episode called "The Fight Before Christmas". "In the wake of Elmo's terrible betrayal, the Simpsons puppets wish to announce they stand felt-shoulder-to-shoulder with Katy Perry," Jean joked in a statement to EW. The FOX show has taped Perry's cameo in mid September, which is before the fuss about "Sesame".

Playing Moe's girlfriend, she is not simpsonized for she appears in person with the puppet version of the Springfield residents. The singer would lead them in a rendition of "The 39 Days of Christmas". The live-action episode will then be topped off with the cartoon version of Martha Stewart.

The first look of Perry surrounded by Homer Simpson and co. is on EW.

Wait, was Katy axed from Sesame Street because her breasts were almost popping or because of the the type of characters she shows in her music videos and live performances? The parents who sent numerous requests to CTV must have a valid reason - their kids. I think Katy's SNL bashing of Elmo (who is respected and loved by children and children-once in spite of being just a puppet) proved the parents right. Katy is perfect for The Simpsons and South Park, keep her there.

"...was deemed to sexy for children..." Wrong 'to' dumbasses. Should be 'too'.

Is this a fundamentalist nation? Since when have breasts become evil & since when does Sesame Street censor them? Check past shows & see all the sexy outfits, skits, etc that Sesame Street has aired over its history. Kids don't need to be protected from beautiful women. Kids need to be protected from verbal, physical & emotional violence. Stop allowing kids to watch/listen to all the violence on tv & in video games... stop yelling at your neighbors & each other. That will do a hell of a lot more for kids than trying to protect them from something soft, sensual, comforting, natural & in every way good. Our bodies aren't evil, but the adult mind certainly is. Censor yourself, not Katy Perry.
