Paris Hilton found her cocaine case following her down to Japan. The 29-year-old socialite, who has made the Asian trip to visit her stores as well as to unveil her 2010 Fall/Winter collection, was held for questioning by officials at Tokyo airport on Tuesday night, September 21 following her guilty plea to felony drug possession charge, CNN reported.
A Japanese official revealed that Paris appeared before Japanese immigration officials the following morning on Wednesday, to ask whether or not she was allowed to enter the country and continue her business tour. The site further reported that Paris was allowed to spend the night at a hotel at the Narita airport until the matter is resolved.
Paris' spokesperson confirmed the matter, telling People "Paris Hilton was delayed by immigration authorities at a Japanese airport this evening after arriving for business obligations planned many months earlier. Paris was contractually bound to her business trip and didn't want to let down her brands and many Asian fans."
"She intended on fulfilling her contract and is trying hard to do the responsible thing, but this is beyond her control. She is very disappointed by tonight's events," the spokesperson continued. An employee at the Consulate-General of Japan in NYC mentioned that Japan is strict when it comes to letting people with recent drug convictions into the country.
Paris Hilton has begun taking her Asian tour this week. The hotel heiress is scheduled to hold fashion shows and press conferences in Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta. She is expected to made a visit at her existing stores in Malaysia and to the official Grand Opening of her latest store in Jakarta, Indonesia.
