J.J. Abrams' 'Super 8': More Cast Announced, First Set Pics Emerge

The likes of Ron Eldard and Noah Emmerich join Kyle Chandler and Elle Fanning who take the lead roles in the upcoming sci-fi movie.

AceShowbiz - More names are added to the cast line-up of J.J. Abrams' mysterious project "Super 8". According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount has announced that Ron Eldard, Noah Emmerich, Gabriel Basso, Joel Courtney, Riley Griffiths, Ryan Lee and Zach Mills are starring in the film.

The studio also confirms previous report that Kyle Chandler and Elle Fanning land lead roles in the movie with the newly announced actors rounding up the main cast. Details of their characters, however, are not yet known.

Meanwhile, the film has kicked off principal photography in West Virginia on Monday, September 20. AICN has obtained the first pictures from the set at Weirton which is reportedly transformed into 1979 Lillian Heights, Ohio. No cast is captured in the photos but they do feature some locations which have been prepared to be used as shooting locations.

No official storyline has been released for "Super 8", but it is said that the film will revolve around three siblings who discover footage of an alien in some Super 8 footage they shot. J.J. Abrams tackles the helming and scripting duties, in addition to producing it alongside Steven Spielberg and Bryan Burk.

This sci-fi movie is possibly aimed for summer 2011 release.
