American football linebacker Brandon Spikes has become the latest star struck with sex tape scandal. The sport star is featured in an X-rated video, which has appeared on WorldStarHipHop along with its explicit images. Spikes' agent Terry Watson has released a statement, stating that he was aware of the situation and has spoken to his client, ESPN Boston reported.

"It was something that occurred before he became an NFL draftee and a New England Patriot. I think for anyone it would be an embarrassing situation," Watson said. "Brandon has shown to many people the kind of person he is before and after being drafted in the second round. He's hoping to put this behind him and looks forward to having a great football season."

The site further revealed that the NFL is currently investigating the video featuring Spikes. League spokesman Greg Aiello said, "We are looking into it." According to NFL's personal conduct policy, all persons associated with the league are required to avoid "conduct detrimental to the integrity of and public confidence in the National Football League."

The sex tape itself features New England Patriots rookie linebacker Spikes getting inmate with a scantily clad woman in what appeared to be a hotel room. Words on the street are the footage was recorded when Spikes was still in college.

On how the sex tape became internet frenzy, DeadSpin reported that an anonymous e-mailer offered them the video for $1,500. However, the site refused. And hours later, the footage and graphics of the explicit tape surfaced on WorldStarHipHop.
