An offer is out for the 'True Blood' star to portray the villainous character in the superhero movie, which is reportedly aimed for 2012 summer release.
Stephen Moyer has an opportunity to sink his teeth into new "Fantastic Four" film. The actor, who is best known for his role of vampire Bill on TV series "True Blood", is allegedly pursued by 20th Century Fox to star as Victor Von Doom aka Doctor Doom.
Comic Book Movie (CBM) reports that an offer is out for Moyer to portray the villainous role, who is the rival to Fantastic Four. The site additionally notes that "it is still unclear exactly how central the character will be in the film," but Doom will be showcased as the ruler of Latveria and a master of the mystic arts.
In the meantime, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers and Adrien Brody are said as the contenders to play main protagonist character Reed Richards. Moreover, Alice Eve and Amber Heard are rumored vying the role of Sue Storm, who is also the love interest of team leader Mr. Fantastic aka Richards.
Another information obtained by CBM is a possible release schedule for the untitled new Fantastic Four project. If all goes as planned, the film could be unleashed in summer 2012, an "inside source at Fox" tells the site. If it turns out to be true, this movie may go head to head with "The Avengers" which is planned to come out on May 4 of the same year.
The current screenplay of this upcoming action sci-fi movie reportedly "has the team's origin taking place during the opening credits; ala 'The Incredible Hulk'." No director has been attached to the project although Fox is said to have had meetings with at least three contenders.
"Fantastic Four" reboot which was previously known as "Fantastic Four Reborn" will be produced by Akiva Goldsman.
