Sitting down for an "Entertainment Tonight" interview with Shaquille O'Neal, Justin Bieber was speechless, literally. However, Justin was not afraid of Shaquille, whom he faces off in a dance competition on the NBA superstar's reality TV show "Shaq vs", as the sport star revealed that Justin's doctor didn't allow him to speak.
"He's been on tour for a while - been practicing for a while. His throat is sore, so he's not allowed to talk during this interview," Shaquille explained. And because of the doctor's advice, the Boston Celtics' center became Justin's translator when the "Baby" hitmaker spoke to him in sign languages and a whisper.
"Basically it's not really a challenge," Shaquille said of the competition. "For me it's about being the best parent, the best dad I can be. Because let's face it: He's the best... Nobody can beat him. I can't beat him. And I don't want to try to beat him."
When asked if Justin is currently having a girlfriend, Shaquille refused to address the matter, saying "When you are brothers, you've got to keep them secret," with Justin showing his agreement by giving him a few claps on his shoulder. Shaquille later added he hoped Justin will stay focus on his music career and education.
Justin Bieber and Shaquille O'Neal will be seen competing in a dance challenge on the season finale of "Shaq vs" which will be aired on ABC on Tuesday, August 31 at 9:01 A.M. On the collaboration, Shaquille shared, "He thinks I'm gonna do okay, but he's kind of nervous, because he think I'm old - even though I'm 38 years young."
