Perhaps in an attempt to crank up the rating for both series, "One Tree Hill" and "Life Unexpected" will be doing a crossover episode on October 12. Two characters from "Hill", Bethany Joy Galeotti's Haley and Kate Voegele's Mia will guest star in "Unexpected", sharing screen with Shiri Appleby's Cate.

In a way their worlds indeed collide with Haley and Mia's job as musician and Cate's profession as a radio jockey. According to Entertainment Weekly, Haley and Mia will travel to Portland to perform at a music festival sponsored by Cate's radio station. An insider said, "Haley and Cate are surprised to learn that they share a similar back story [as] mothers."

The CW is pairing up "One Tree Hill" and "Life Unexpected" on Tuesdays starting September 14. The network hopes "Hill" 3 million viewers will be a good lead-in for the relatively new show which averages in 2 million viewers.

I would rather a Gossip Girl/90210 crossover because it would be all kinds of fun. But Iím still intrigued by this news. Iím pretty sure itís the first crossover the CW has done since taking the place of the WB back in 2006. I can see how the OTH characters would enter LU with a practical explanation, but not in any way should they have it vise-versa. It may open up some doors and be a possible experiment for crossovers, if ratings do well. The only other 2 shows that could crossover is 90210 and Gossip Girl, however. Because Smallville is by itself and Vampire Diaries and Supernatural do things extremely different with the mythologies of vampires and other things that go bump in the night. Maybe if Hellcats does well it could crossover with one of the other 4 ďgrounded in realityĒ series on the CW, and thatís about all I have to say.
