A trailer of season 2 was screened, revealing much about Katherine will interfere with Damon, Stefan and Elena's already-complicated relationship.

AceShowbiz - "The Vampire Diaries" proves to be a show with growing number of fans judging from the crowd at San Diego Comic Con 2010 panel compared to last year's. Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder, Michael Trevino, and Matthew Davis joined the executive producers of the show to present a sneak peek to the second season as well as some spoilers.

Katherine becomes the center of the clip with her return to Mystic Falls. She attacks Bonnie and pretty much everyone else who stands in her way. Damon also confesses to Stefan to have kissed Elena but he gets a bitter truth after Katherine tells him that she was never in love with him. Instead, Katherine tells Stefan she came back for him but he says he hates her and a duel begins immediately. The clip is not yet officially released, but a fan at the con taped it for bootleg version.

The Q & A session was kicked off with Dobrev saying how cool it is to portray Katherine. On the other hand, Somerhalder confessed he's not too keen on portraying a nice Damon. "The nice Damon freaks me out. We went through that scene together with the kiss on the porch and I was miserable. I didn't know what to do," he said.

Then came the big bomb about what kind of creature the Lockwoods are. As expected, they are of werewolf descendant which will be explored in the new season. "We don't want anything to look corny, and we don't want to copy any other movies or television shows," Trevino said about the transformation. Wesley teased, "He's going to look like Michael J. Fox in 'Teen Wolf'."

Regarding the fate of Jeremy, exec producer Julie Plec said, "He's either going to wake up alive of he's going to wake up dead. But he is going to wake up." Meanwhile, her partner Kevin Williamson hinted, "I don't kill people just to kill people. But yes, people are going to die," adding also there's "another part of the story we haven't shown you" about Katherine's background story.

"The Vampire Diaries" returns September 9.
