A day after it was known that Green Lantern will grace the cover of Entertainment Weekly magazine, the publication has unveiled the picture. As it was promised, the photo features Ryan Reynolds in the superhero costume as he plays the titular character in "Green Lantern".
Not only sharing the first look at Reynolds in the CGI costume, but also the magazine has some pictures which introduces several characters from the movie. They include Blake Lively who plays Carol Ferris or Hal Jordan's love interest and Peter Sarsgaard who stars as villainous Hector Hammond.
Additionally, Tim Robbins and Angela Bassett who star as Senator Hammond and Dr. Waller respectively are also seen examining Sarsgaard in a picture. The other image scanned from the latest issue of EW, meanwhile, captures Jordan showing off his green energy-powered ring.
"Green Lantern" centers its story on Hal Jordan, the alter ego of Green Lantern, who is also an ordinary man chosen by a dying alien named Abin Sur to receive a green energy-powered ring used for protecting the planet. Production for the movie is still undergoing in New Orleans under the direction of Martin Campbell.
This action superhero film is going to be presented at this year's San Diego Comic Con on the Third Day, July 24. Warner Bros. Pictures eyes June 17, 2011 U.S. release schedule for the flick.
