Denver Nuggets star Carmelo Anthony married his longtime girlfriend LaLa Vazquez in a lavish New York ceremony at the Manhattan restaurant Cipriani on Saturday night, July 10. Anthony and Vazquez's 3-year-old son, Kiyan, escorted the wedding couple to the altar.
According to People, Vazquez donned a Vera Wang wedding gown as she swapped vows with Anthony at the nuptials which was performed by Dr. Michael Eric Dyson. The wedding venue was said transformed into a red-themed celebration featuring red table cloths, centerpieces of red Ecuadorian roses, hundreds of candles and thousands of red roses hanging from the high ceiling.
After exchanging vows, Anthony and Vazquez joined their guests for cocktails and a sit-down dinner and danced to a live band. About 320 people attended the party, including Lebron James, Kim Kardashian, Khloe kardashian, Lamar Odom, Ciara, Chris Paul, Justin Timberlake, Ludacris, tennis star Serena Williams, Kelly Rowland and Kenyon Martin.
Kevin Osbourne, who led a 14-piece band that played during the dinner, additionally told Us Magazine, "They are ready to party!," adding that the newlyweds requested "a lot of classic soul and R&B," like songs from "Michael Jackson to Stevie Wonder." Beside Osbourne, DJ Clue also performed at the celebration.
Following the nuptials, former MTV and VH1 host Vazquez, posted a message on her Twitter page which read, "Best night of my entire life. Thank u to all my family and friends who shared tonight with me. I love u. I'm on cloud 9 right now... Thank u guys for all ur congratulations... last night was truly the most AMAZING night of my life... thank u to everyone who shared it w/me!"
Carmelo Anthony and LaLa Vazquez's wedding ceremony, which was planned by event planner Mindy Weiss, was filmed for an upcoming VH1 reality show and will be aired in September.
