In the preview, Jake's character admits that his choice in a dating show is based on what is requested by the producer for a dramatic effect.

AceShowbiz - While the news of Jake Pavelka's split from fiancee Vienna Girardi is still warm, Lifetime takes the chance to release several sneak peeks to his "Drop Dead Diva" cameo. The contestant of "The Bachelor" season 14 got into a character that actually is not far from his real life, to become a bachelor who must lay a choice between two women in a dating series.
Jake's Toby is a suitor on "Finding the One", a dating show which producer is being sued for "intentionally inflicting emotional harm" when Toby dumps one bachelorette for favor of another. Some stills revealed Jake's Toby Davlin walking down the isle with a brunette and the video preview showed a court trial where a blonde is also present. Toby is put on the testifying booth and reveals that he was encouraged to pick a particular girl for a dramatic effect.
The episode, called "Good Grief", was shot last week and will air August 22.
Speaking of the acting experience as well as how it relates to his real life, Jake told People, "One of the keys to acting is you have to get out of your head. This [show] didn't hire me to be Jake, they hired me to play Toby Davlin. I can't be Jake and sell this character."
This also means he had to break up with Vienna over the phone while he's filming in Atlanta. "I've been trying to put all that aside so that I can give this character justice," he continued. "It's been a struggle thinking about my relationship and going in front of the camera and shooting. It was a difficult conversation on the phone. But the relationship was headed in that direction."
