The 83rd Annual Academy Awards is still on the track of its February 27, 2011 slot. Responding to rumor started by Deadline Hollywood that the show might be moved to January, Oscars director-producer Don Mischer has explained to Los Angeles Times that it is not true.

"When I read that in Nikki Finke's column I was completely surprised. I do know that it would not be happening for the show we're doing," he states. He then explains, "If you want to make that kind of change you have to plan for that a year and a half in advance. I understand why the academy might want to consider it. But it's not going to change anything this year."

Mischer additionally shares that they will start talking about who will host the show on Monday, June 28 and Betty White may be offered the job. "All options are open. And I'm sure we'll get a big push for Betty White. I can feel it coming," he claims, before adding "I think she'd be great in some capacity. [Laughs.] I don't know if she'd want to host the whole show."

Beside Don Mischer, the 2011 Academy Awards will also be produced by "American Beauty" producer Bruce Cohen. The annual awards show will be held at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood and aired live by the ABC Television Network.
