Jake Pavelka and his ex-fiancee who announced their split earlier this week, only get to keep the 42,000 diamond ring if they get married.

AceShowbiz - Despite the fact that the split between "The Bachelor" couple Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi is still fresh, ABC said they want the engagement ring back. The 3 carat Neil Lane diamond ring which Jake presented to Vienna when he popped the question at the end of the reality show earlier this month is due to be returned.

"The ring will go to production," an ABC spokeswoman confirmed. The deal with the production company is they could keep the jewelry only if they get married, making the bling some sort of a prop. ABC did not say further whether the ring will be used in the next season of "The Bachelor".

Vienna's stepmother told TMZ that Vienna left the ring behind along with a goodbye note when she moved out of Jake's place over the weekend. However, Us Magazine caught a glimpse of Vienna still wearing the $42,000 bling while out and about in Los Angeles on Monday, June 21 morning. It was a few hours before the split was made public.

Jake Pavelka picked Vienna Girardi over Tenley Molzahn in the March 1 finale. Trista and Ryan Sutter remain to be the only couple successfully united by the reality show franchise by far. Season 13's bachelor Jason Mesnick eventually married Molly Malaney whom he met in the dating show, but he first proposed to Melissa Rycroft.
