First 'The Last Exorcism' Trailer Shares the Real Horror

A Reverend wants his last exorcism to be documented, but the supposed final task meets him with an evil he is not prepared to face.


Lionsgate Films has premiered the first full-length trailer for "The Last Exorcism". Making its way out via Yahoo! Movies, the video first shows how a Reverend is followed by a film crew to capture his exploits. It then gives preview to his failed attempt to exorcise a demon from a girl and how the evil haunts them back.

"The Last Exorcism" is a story of faux documentary about a Reverend named Cotton Marcus who is contacted by Louis Sweetzer to exorcise a demon from his daughter Nell. Agreeing to take on one last exorcism, he allows a film crew to capture his exploits.

Upon entering the village, he is threatened by a boy. However, his true problem comes when he encounters the possessed girl. Not prepared for the true evil he faces there, Cotton wants to give up and leave. But Nell's father decides to take it in his own hand if Cotton won't.

Coming from Produced by Eli Roth, the film is directed by Daniel Stamm. Patrick Fabian stars as Cotton Marcus, while Ashley Bell takes the role of Nell. This thriller will haunt audience in U.S. theaters starting August 27.
