The 2010 MTV Movie Awards is surprisingly dominated by "The Hangover" and not Oscar winner "Avatar" or fan favorite "The Twilight Saga's New Moon". The comedy starring Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis is given six nods while "Avatar" and "New Moon" stop at five.
"Hangover" receives the nominations in Best WTF Moment for Ken Jeong's nude scene, Best Comedic Performance for both Cooper and Galifianakis, and the coveted Best Movie among two others. In fact, "Hangover" will have to compete with "New Moon" and "Avatar" in the Best Movie category along with "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" and "Alice in Wonderland".
One of the new categories added this year is called Global Superstar, and the "Twilight" gang is dominating the nominees list. Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart will battle Johnny Depp and Daniel Radcliffe to win the new trophy.
Under the Breakout Star category, there are the likes of Gabourey Sidibe, Chris Pine and Galifianakis. Best Kiss is nominating Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds in "The Proposal", Lautner and Taylor Swift in "Valentine's Day", Stewart and Dakota Fanning in "The Runaways", as well as Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana in "Avatar".
Fans are welcomed to vote for the winners at MTV.com. The 2010 MTV Movie Awards airs Sunday, June 6 at 9/8c on MTV with Aziz Ansari as host.
