Sources say the studio and director Timur Bekmambetov have eyed to tap the young actress as the female lead in 'Wanted 2'.

AceShowbiz - Universal Pictures allegedly sets their eyes on a younger actress for "Wanted 2". After Angelina Jolie dropped out of the project, the studio and director Timur Bekmambetov have been reported expressing interest to get Kristen Stewart to star opposite James McAvoy in "Wanted (2008)" sequel.

Sources tell E! Online the 20-year-old beauty could fill the lead role left by Jolie, playing a character of young, ass-kicking assassin in the Fraternity. An insider additionally informs that Bekmambetov has approached Stewart and met her at least once.

Since the report is still considered as a rumor, another source says the project will likely not see collaboration between Stewart and McAvoy. However, E! Online insists it remains a slim possibility. Meanwhile, representative for Stewart has not responded to request for comment on the news.

"Wanted 2" will reportedly follow McAvoy's Wesley being hunted by other assassins from around the world. Mark Millar, co-creator for "Wanted" comic book, has also dished on the possible storyline for the film, saying it will introduce other fraternities of assassins from around the world.

Having wrapped "The Twilight Saga's Eclipse" which will be released on June 30, Kristen Stewart is expected to reprise her role as Bella Swan in the latest installment, "The Twilight Saga's Breaking Dawn". However, nothing has been set in stone for the upcoming project, except that Melissa Rosenberg is writing the script.
