It has been officially announced that Kris Allen sealed a publishing deal with Universal Music. The deal includes Allen's self-titled album "Kris Allen" as well as future works during the term of the agreement.

The winner of "American Idol" season 8 said, "I look forward to a long and prosperous relationship with Monti Olson and the creative staff at Universal Music Publishing Group." Monti Olson, Senior Vice President of Universal Music Publishing Group, added, "I am proud that a songwriter of Kris' caliber would choose to make Universal Music Publishing Group his home. I look forward to the future with Kris."

Kris Allen has released his post-"Idol" album in November 2009. He returned to the stage of the reality singing competition in a February episode, reuniting with Allison Iraheta. At that time, he performed "Let It Be" and talked about his experience of visiting Haiti, while Iraheta sang "Scars".

Hi, my name is Kris Allen and I am the most boring singer in the history of music.

The boy is nice, but as a musician, I see talent superior to Kris talent every day. Have to give him credit for taking the Idol risk and performing. Honestly, his guitar work is less than average and, his voice is really inferior to most singers as he lacks range and uniqueness. The Idol experience and Kris' boyish looks have given him the push to sell. However, using one of Simon's terms, he is forgettable. Perhaps his talent is in song writing. If that is the case, one would wonder why he choose a cover for his first single release. I have no grudge against the boy. I am simply stating my opinion.

Jay, it's funny that you were talking about someone being able to write. You seem to have a big problem with it. You really don't have the grasp of compound sentences, do you? LOL Sorry. It just made me laugh.

Don't know what "room" he sold out, but seriously the dude can't freakin sing. He's short and he's a dork. Half of America doesn't even remember who won AI last year.. and as for the rest of the world well they never did know who he was. No talent, can't sing, can't play the guitar either. Time for him to just go away....

Seriously people, why would you even take the time to post a negative response? Kris has not had ANY problem filling a room. He has not exactly had any venues cancelled due to low ticket sales. His album has not sold as much as we would like, but I still hear from people that dont even know it is available. The promotion has been lacking. The publishing deal is a great thing because Kris is a fabulous song writer with a great ability to arrange music. I dont think this means he is going to stop playing and singing because he loves it, his fans love it and he was put on this earth to provide music. You cant find a nicer guy. I think all of the KA naysayers out there are just jealous of the fact that he is doing so well. Just watch people....there are big things coming from the Kris Allen camp! He is going to blow your mind.

What is the meaning of lowest selling idol in History. Has his album been taken off the shelves? You people just don't know how it works. It's because his fans wouldn't buy 100 copies and damp them on people , yes I said it. Most song writer artists sign publishing deals and they sing at the same time. That's money in the making for Kris and a sign that someone believes in his talent as a songwriter. How many artists are selling millions now? None, and I bet Kris is going to be in this for a long haul. For your information, no new artist fills big venues and that's whyI like the way Kris' mgt is promoting him by putting him with other established ones. You can fill rooms and be preaching to the choir everynight but that's not how to establish a long term career. Play to diverse crowds that are not your fans already and you gain new ones each time. Wishing Kris the best.

he really needs this, his album tanked and he is the lowest selling Idol in history, I just don't see him being able to fill a room. He can write, maybe that is where is will do better.
