The lead actor claims he has an 'impressive costume' and has to wear a 'long, blond wig' everyday when he shoots his parts for the upcoming movie.
Shooting for "Thor" is still underway but there is no picture which manages to capture Chris Hemsworth as the titular character. While the look at the Hemsworth's Thor has not been unveiled, the actor has been willing to describe the wardrobe he uses for the principal photography.
"It's a pretty impressive costume, and I think anyone who put it on would look pretty cool," he told MTV when met at the premiere of his brother Liam Hemsworth's movie "The Last Song". Detailing further about another attribute attached to him during the filming, he stated, "I have nice, long, blond wig which they throw on every day."
Additionally, Hemsworth revealed that he can be seen having "semi-blond eyebrows and beard" since director Kenneth Branagh reportedly wants them as some of the natural elements of the visual effect for the character's debut. For playing Thor, Hemsworth has also bulked up to match his size with the hero's mighty hammer, Mjolnir.
Aside from the physical preparation, Hemsworth previously had to learn how to pronounce the iconic hammer. "There's many different versions of pronouncing that thing," he shared with laugh. "The rehearsal process was mainly about how do we pronounce that word."
"Thor" tells the story of a powerful but arrogant warrior, who is cast down to Earth due to his reckless actions. But he later learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of Asgard tries to invade Earth.
Starring opposite Hemsworth is Natalie Portman, who is set to portray Thor's first love Jane Foster. Additionally, Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, Jaimie Alexander, Kat Dennings and many others are also cast for the film. This action adventure movie is scheduled to arrive in the U.S. on May 6, 2011.
