Although he kept it dry on other spoilers during PaleyFest, Larry David was excited when saying that he thinks the show will return for another season.
There is a "pretty good chance" that HBO will extend "Curb Your Enthusiasm" to eighth season. The show held its almost sold-out panel at 27th Annual PaleyFest on Sunday, March 14 to talk about the show's future including who returns and who doesn't.
First, star/producer/writer Larry David addressed the fate of the show, revealing that the cable is leaning on renewing it. "I think there's a pretty good chance," he said. "Not definite yet, but we're working on some stuff."
For one thing, the cast of "Seinfeld" which highlighted season 7's last few episodes, will not return to the show. "There will be no more 'Seinfeld' references on the show. 'Seinfeld' questions are probably not appropriate," David said. But, David did say that the trash-talking house guest played by comedian J.B. Smoove would make his way back.
Other than the discussion about season 8 and guest stars, there was not much else that David revealed. He nevertheless gave an "I think so" to the question whether David and Cheryl would be back together. And he thought about giving the Toyota Prius he drives on the show a story arc.
The actor was apparently not pleased with the topics lifted by moderator L.A. Times TV editor Martin Miller. After a slew of clips at the beginning of the panel, Miller said that they looked good wide screen and asked whether there could be a movie version. David icily answered, "I don't think so". Also when Miller kept mentioning "Seinfeld", David cut it with "We're here to talk about 'Curb', Martin."
