Keyshia Cole, through her representative Tresa Sanders, announced that she is a mother to a baby boy. The infant is her first child with Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Daniel Gibson who reportedly proposed to her with an "incredible ring" on New Year's Eve.
According to Sanders, the baby who is named Daniel Hiram Gibson Jr. and his mother "are doing great". He was born Tuesday, March 2 at 11:54 P.M. in Cleveland, Ohio, where Gibson plays basketball, weighing 7 pounds, 3 ounces.
"The proud couple would like to thank everyone for giving them privacy during this special time," Cole told Us magazine. "Keyshia would also like to give a special thank you to her fans that have been with her since the beginning sharing in her growth as a woman and an artist."
The singer announced her pregnancy in January, releasing a statement to her fans, "Now that I am becoming a mom my passion for having a loving and peaceful home for my child is my #1 priority. It's very important to both Daniel and I ... the stress that my family is giving me with their constant false reports is not healthy and it's not what I need at this time in my life."
