78violet have officially announced their departure from Hollywood Records. "What does that mean exactly??? Now we have the freedom to take 78violet in the direction we want," Alyson Michalka and Amanda Michalka said in a joint statement.

Following their exit from the giant company which currently becomes the home for their fellow group Jonas Brothers, the album recorded by the sisters duo during their stay in the label will be shelved for good. But, fans have nothing to worry as they will continue writing and making music.

In short time, their official website which was built under the name of Aly & AJ will be taken down and the accounts fans created on the site will be put on hold. "But we'll have a new message board and a new temporary site up in a few days that will serve as our main communication with you for the time being," they assured fans at the end of the announcement.

They actually have really good voices and some good songs, but Disney likes that cookie cutter tecno sound & that limits the kind of music they can put out. Both girls are talented in music & acting & perhaps gaining independence from Disney will open more doors for them. I wish them well.

Hollywood records isn't their problem. They just aren't good enough for anyone but Disney tweens.
