The ads for 'Prince of Persia: Sands of Time' and 'Alice in Wonderland' still manage to reveal new scenes, while the TV spot for 'The Wolfman' is a collection of footage from previous snippets.
As it has been expected, some studios use Super Bowl XLIV to promote their films. During the commercial break of the game, new snippets for "Prince of Persia: Sands of Time", "Alice in Wonderland" and "The Wolfman" have been aired.
Providing bits of new footage, the ad for "Prince of Persia" is a shorter version of the international trailer and is packed with action scenes, while the video for the Tim Burton-directed film features a lot of its characters. In the meantime, the snippet for the horror movie is a mixture of the scenes which have been seen in the previously released sneak peeks.
"Prince of Persia: Sands of Time" follows Jake Gyllenhaal's Dastan and Gemma Arterton's Tamina as they team up to prevent a villainous nobleman from possessing the Sands of Time, a gift from the gods that can reverse time and allow its possessor to rule the world. The action adventure is set to be released in the U.S. on May 28.
Meanwhile, "Alice in Wonderland" will see 19-year-old Alice returning to the whimsical world she first encountered as a young girl, reuniting with her childhood friends. This time, she embarks on a fantastical journey to find her true destiny and end the Red Queen's reign of terror. Mia Wasikowska leads with Johnny Depp starring as Mad Hatter. Walt Disney Pictures will release the movie in the U.S. on March 5.
As for "The Wolfman", the remake of the 1941 classic of the same name follows Talbot who is lured back to his family estate after his brother vanishes. As he finds out that a nightmarish beast has been terrorizing the town but while investigating, Lawrence discovers a horrifying destiny for himself. This Benicio Del Toro-starring flick will hit U.S. theaters on February 12.
