New promotional photo from "The Last Airbender" has been released by Paramount Pictures. While the previously released posters highlight Noah Ringer's Aang and Dev Patel's Zuko, the fresh image gives a look at two other major characters, Jackson Rathbone's Sokka and Nicola Peltz's Katara.
In a recent interview with Los Angeles Times, director M. Night Shyamalan talked about the Buddhist philosophy that underlies "Airbender" and draws himself to make the film adaptation. "Aang himself needs to find balance to be the Avatar and to master each of these elements," he said. "We get to see the process of someone mastering themselves through the three seasons to get to peace."
Set in a world where human civilization is divided into four nations: Water, Earth, Air and Fire, "The Last Airbender" follows Aang. Teaming up with Waterbender named Katara and her brother Sokka, Aang proceeds on a perilous journey to restore balance to their war-torn world. This live-action movie is slated for July 2 release in the U.S.
