The new ad of gay man dating site ManCrunch.com has taken the headline over Super Bowl itself when CBS refuses to air it during the game. A rep for the site has released a statement in response to the rejection which was considered vague.
Their protest is mainly based on the fact that CBS accepts an ad by quarterback Tim Tebow which promotes on a Christian group called Focus on the Family. "We are very disappointed that in 2010 such discrimination is happening especially given the fact that Focus on the Family is allowed to promote their way of life during the Super Bowl," the rep said in a statement.
CBS has not commented on this. The last statement that they issued was concerning the reason they decided not to air the commercial during the game which is popular among men. "CBS Standards and Practices has reviewed your proposed Super Bowl ad and concluded that the creative is not within the Network's Broadcast Standards for Super Bowl Sunday," the network said. "Moreover, our Sales Department has had difficulty verifying your organization's credit status."
The ad features two guys who support different teams watching the game together. They become attracted to one another over a bowl of chips and start to make out right on the couch.
