"If I wanted to go, I would go, but I don't want to see her that way," Angelo Bertolotti explains on why he won't attend the actress' funeral.

AceShowbiz - Angelo Bertolotti, father of late actress Brittany Murphy, says he won't attend his daughter's funeral, which has been planned for Thursday afternoon, December 24 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in the Hollywood Hills. "If I wanted to go, I would go, but I don't want to see her that way," he muses. "She was flawless to me. She was a little bright child. I have only good memories about her. She's a memory to me now. To me she's off making a movie somewhere."

"I was very shocked by it," 83-year-old Bertolotti says of Murphy's sudden death on December 20. "I can't believe it really. It happened so fast; I'm just trying to figure it all out right now. I'm very upset by it."

Bertolotti, who hadn't spoken to Murphy for more than a year and who had never met her husband, Simon Monjack, furthermore claims that he doesn't know if Murphy had other disease than diabetes. "She had a couple of issues but nothing was that serious," so he says. "Her mother never told me anything like that. She never said she had anything like was listed in the papers."

When asked to address reports that Murphy named her mother Sharon as the sole heir of her property, Bertolotti says he isn't surprised, claiming "They were very, very close."
