'Avatar' Invades London for World Premiere

On Thursday, December 10, the cast and crew for the sci-fi film were photographed hitting the blue carpet that was rolled out at Odeon Leicester Square in London, England.

AceShowbiz - Eight days before its theatrical debut in the U.S., "Avatar" brought the cast and crew to London, England for its world premiere. On Thursday night, December 10, blue carpet was rolled out in front of a cinema at Odeon Leicester Square to welcome all the guests.

Donning a formal outfit, lead actor Sam Worthington was seen coming to the event with the companion of his girlfriend Natalie Mark. Then, some other cast, like Zoe Saldana, Michelle Rodriguez, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Laz Alonso, and Joel David Moore, were also spotted that night. Additionally, director James Cameron did not miss the special screening.

A handful of celebrities were also captured attending the premiere. Among them were Una Healy, Tolula Adeyemi, Simon Webbe, Simon Pegg, Sabrina Washington, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, and Kimberly Wyatt of The Pussycat Dolls.

"Avatar" centers its story on Sam Worthington's Jake Sully, a former Marine who was wounded and paralyzed from the waist down in combat on Earth. Unwittingly embarking on a journey of redemption and discovery, he will later lead a heroic battle to save a civilization. This sci-fi movie will open wide in U.S. theaters on December 18.
