Justin Timberlake's 'The Social Network' Gets Release Date

The film about Facebook founders that stars the Grammy Award winner is set to be a fall movie and scheduled to be released in October next year.

AceShowbiz - Justin Timberlake's upcoming film "The Social Network" has got a release date. According to ComingSoon.net, Columbia Pictures has chosen October 15, 2010 as the day when this drama hits theaters. On the same day, CBS Films' "Faster" starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Billy Bob Thornton is also expected to open wide in the U.S.

"The Social Network" is based on Ben Mezrich's novel "The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, a Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal", which tells the story behind the controversial birth of the Facebook website. The movie itself will focus on the drama behind the Harvard dorm room creation of the popular social networking site by Mark Zuckerberg and his roommates.

Taking the role of founder Mark Zuckerberg is "Zombieland" star Jesse Eisenberg. Justin Timberlake will play Sean Parker, the Napster co-founder who became Facebook's founding president, and Andrew Garfield will star as co-founder Eduardo Saverin, who fell out with Zuckerberg over money. Timberlake has grown out his curly hair to portray Parker.

Coming from David Fincher, the man behind "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button", the movie is written by "Charlie Wilson's War" scribe Aaron Sorkin. The film is currently shooting in Los Angeles after it kicked off production in October in Boston.
