Lady GaGa is not into Hollywood glamor and party life. To MTV News she tells the reason why stating, "To be totally honest, I don't really have any celebrity friends, I don't know anybody, and I'm not enticed by that lifestyle."
"[I also want something that] isn't this Hollywood kind of future that we imagine all pop stars go to," she explains further. "I have to find my own space. I try to reject all of that. I try to stay internal and just focus on myself."
Notwithstanding her nowadays fame, GaGa professes "If anything, getting back to my record [The Fame: Monster], I miss the past, and I've had to mourn the past and try to find a place for myself that isn't the past."
Speaking of her being idolized and praised by fans as well as some fellow music stars, GaGa shares with MTV News, "Flattery, to me, I don't know why, but that implies an element of ego that I really try and stay away from." She then gives one example of her being praised by pop diva Madonna. She says, "I know Madonna, so in friendship, what she said about me was so kind, and it made me smile inside."
