Wayne Rooney and Wife Coleen McLoughlin Welcome First Child

Soccer star Wayne Rooney has become a father as his wife Coleen McLoughlin has given birth to their first child together, a baby boy, on Monday, November 2. The newborn infant weighed at 8lb 2oz., and is named Kai Wayne Rooney.

The very pregnant Coleen checked into Liverpool Women's Hospital just after 10 P.M. on Sunday night, November 1 and Wayne reportedly was by her side when she gave birth to the baby boy. "Wayne was a star with Coleen. He didn't leave her side from the moment she came into the hospital," a source tells Daily Mail.

"When Col gave birth, Wayne's eyes welled up. As soon as he was handed the baby, the tears began. He was over the moon and was saying 'I can't believe it'," adds the source. Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the family has confirmed, "Mother and baby are both absolutely fine," adding "Wayne and Coleen are thrilled with the wonderful addition to their family life."
