Ending their romance after nearly two years of dating, Knight and Cornelson reportedly "still care about each other very much."
T.R. Knight and his boyfriend Mark Cornelson have called it quits after nearly two years of dating. Exclusive report on the matter is brought forth by In Touch Weekly, which cites a source close to Knight as saying, though breaking up the now-former-lovers "still care about each other very much."
Confirming statement regarding the report is yet to be made by either Knight or Cornelson, but In Touch has reported that the former "Grey's Anatomy" actor has asked Cornelson to move out of the apartment they shared. Nevertheless, the source stresses further that the break-up "just came to a natural end" and there were "no hard feelings" between the two.
Back in 2006, T.R. Knight publicly confirmed that he is gay. The 36-year-old star met Mark Cornelson, who is a student at UCLA, at a Matthew Sheperd Foundation gala in L.A. in fall 2007. Notwithstanding their 16 years age gap, they began dating soon thereafter.
Last week, Knight told Ellen DeGeneres in an interview for her chat show "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" that he wants to have a baby. Now that he has split from Cornelson, he still holds on to the hope of adopting a child. "When the time is right, it will happen," the same source tells In Touch Weekly, adding that Knight is currently focusing on his musical "Parade", which will run through next month.
