Singer Mya and her dancing partner Dmitry Chaplin were top scorers on the Monday, October 12 episode of "Dancing with the Stars". The duo scored a total of 28 points, thanks to their lambada, which earned them an 8 from judge Len Goodman and 10 each from judges Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli.
"My expectations are really high and I felt in the lambada I was going to get a bit more," Len expressed his disappointment toward their performance. Bruno, however, considered their dance to be an "erotic, exotic roller coaster."
Mya and Dmitry shared the top spot with fellow competitors on season 9 of the dancing competition, Melissa Joan Hart and Mark Ballas. The partners also also managed to earn 28 points from judges. "Melissa, you brought the 1920's Hollywood flapper back to life," Bruno said on the reason why he gave them a perfect 10 for their Charleston. "You have the role 110 percent!"
Joanna Krupa and Derek Hough were the other top scorers on the hit dancing show. They netted a 26 out of 30 for their sexy lambada, which saw the male dancer taking his shirt off during the composition. "I know what I want for tomorrow night's encore. Derek, you never disappoint, whatever dance it is, you come up with fantastic choreography," Len said of the twosome. And Carrie was quick to chime in, "All I can say is I hope that the children were in bed."
Similar to Mya and Melissa, Michael Irvin and Anna Demidova, and Louie Vito and Chelsie Hightower also scored the same points. The pairs scored 16 each and were below Aaron Carter and his dancing partner Karina Smirnoff who only scored 18 this week.
During the Monday episode of "Dancing with the Stars", the 11 remaining celebs were asked to perform four new styles of dance; country two-step, lambada, bolero and Charleston. It is reported that Shakira will take the stage on Tuesday night, October 13 episode.
