The photo taken from the set of the Vertigo comic book series' adaptation exposes the 2009's 'Star Trek' beauty in costume as mysterious Middle-Eastern hellion Aisha.
Zoe Saldana has been set to play Middle-Eastern hellion Aisha in "The Losers", and Entertainment Weekly has nailed the first look at the "Star Trek" actress in character. The first photo of the lone female member of the group was taken from the set, presenting the 31-year-old in costume which is completed with eyebrow piercing and tied-back hair.
Speaking about the casting of Saldana for the part, writer Andy Diggle who wrote the series opened up, "Aisha has to be deadly and desirable in equal measure, and Zoe embodies both qualities in spades." He furthermore added by promising, "Trust me, you've never seen her kick ass the way she does in The Losers!"
Based on the comic book series published by the Vertigo, "The Losers" has "Stomp the Yard" helmer Sylvain White taking the director's chair. Peter Berg and James Vanderbilt provide the script. Jeffrey Dean Morgan stars as Clay, Idris Elba as Roque, Columbus Short as Pooch, Chris Evans as Jensen and Oscar Jaenada as Cougar.
The story revolves around a band of CIA black ops team. After being betrayed and left for dead, they join forces in an attempt to take down Jason Patric's Max, the man responsible for their collective misfortunes. Warner Bros. eyes to distribute the movie into theaters across the U.S. on April 9, 2010.
Zoe Saldana was last seen on the big screen starring as Uhura in 2009's "Star Trek". Her feature credit includes "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl", "The Terminal" and "Vantage Point". She plays Neytiri in James Cameron's forthcoming "Avatar", and is expected to return as Uhura in "Star Trek 2".
