The body of deceased actor Patrick Swayze has been cremated, E! News reports. Citing the late star's death certificate, the news media furthermore claims that his ashes are currently being stored at his lawyer's office on behalf of his wife of 34 years, actress Lisa Niemi.
In the meantime, a memorial service to honor Patrick has been confirmed to be held at the North Carolina town of Lake Lure, where his hit 1987 film "Dirty Dancing" was filmed. A memorial is scheduled to be staged at 7 P.M. Saturday, September 19 at Firefly Cove, a housing development that was Camp Chimney Rock when "Dirty Dancing" was filmed. The event is free, but attendees will be asked to make donation to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network in Patrick's name.
Patrick Swayze passed away on Monday, September 14 after losing his battle against stage 4 pancreatic cancer, which he was first diagnosed with in early 2008. On Tuesday, September 15, Radar Online ran an exclusive report claiming his remains would be cremated and the ashes would then be spread across his ranch in New Mexico.
Though so, there has been no official statement made by Patrick's camp on where his ashes will be scattered. Besides, his family also has not yet confirmed whether or not they will hold a memorial service to remember his life and career.
