The report made by U.K.'s Daily Mirror is branded false by the spokeswoman of the show because they don't pay for interviews.

A spokeswoman for Oprah Winfrey has come out with a denial that the talk show queen will pay Jaycee Lee Dugard to appear on "The Oprah Winfrey Show". Daily Mirror reported recently that the rape victim would receive 1 million if she shows up but Angela DePaul said that they never pay for interviews.

Oprah indeed expressed her desire to be the first to interview Dugard. To Samantha Harris of The Insider, she put stresses in the words "I want that interview". Already securing Whitney Houston to be her season opener, Oprah said that it didn't matter compared to this Dugard case. "This is the one that I want," she added.

Although the willingness is present, Dugard is not yet ready to meet the public. The 29-year-old, who was abducted when she was 11 and kept hostage all years long until discovered in August this year, is still going through psychological counseling and intensive therapy.

A spokeswoman for the family, Erica Price Schulte, said that plans for any television interview are false.

Oprah should not only pay her, but give her all advertising revenue. It will take a lot of money to aid their recovery, and they should not have any further worries about their needs being met.

Sounds like Oprah is doing a bit of Damage Control. Jaycee and her family have been going through a horrific experience and Oprah is publicly announcing her “Rating Boasting” wants. Let Jaycee alone, send some of you millions to help the family get through these trying times, and don’t invade the family’s privacy. This is a very important time for their healing, don’t force your schedule on how long it will take.

Author James Ellroy recently wrote a beautiful essay in Newsweek about a young girl, Lily Burke, who was abducted and murdered. He ends the essay with: "We are urgently charged to honor her and seek goodness at all costs." Can't be said better. I just think anyone who has had their lives torn by evil feels so strongly for Jaycee that all we can do is lay our hearts wide open, suffer for humanity's and our own shadow sides, honor her, and by honoring, seek and pursue goodness in our own lives at all costs.

If Jaycee decides to share her story with the world. She should only agree if her Family will be taken care of financially for the rest of their lives. Why should Oprah or anyone make money from the details of Jaycee's horrific 18 year nightmare. It is disgusting all the rats crawling out of the sewers and being paid for their stories and photos of Jaycee and her daughters. The media fighting over them and making money off their suffering. I hope Opera and anyone who has money to spare will make a donation to Help them. Media and photo hogs should back off now and show some Respect for their Privacy.

No reason for this young woman to come on Oprah unless she gets paid big bucks. After all, mega-millionaire Oprah will make money off of it, why shouldn't this poor girl?
